ask Brooklyn february 2014

I don't know about you guys, but I am absolutely loving this series. It is such a fun opportunity for me to answer your questions. So let's get Rollin...

Do you have any blogging tips or tricks to share?
I actually am going to start a monthly series all about the things I've learned in blogging! So that's exciting! But my best advice is to be yourself, blog about things you love, and make connections. Decide what blogging means to you, and do what works for you.

What do you look like with your natural hair color? Would you ever consider going back to it?

That's the most recent picture I can find of myself before I ever dyed my hair. I slowly added in blonde highlights and just feel like being a lighter blonde is more flattering on me.

I'd maybe consider going back to my natural color, but not right now. I love being blonde way too much ;)

What is your least favorite food?

Fish. Any and all kinds. Ew.

Do you ever get tired of talking about marriage and relationship goals? Will that continue to be the main focus of your blog?

My blog tagline is "a blog about faith, marriage, and positive personal change." I try to blog about a variety of things, Disney, hair, blogging, etc. But the truth is, I'm a newlywed. So my biggest focus right now is figuring out how to rock this first year of marriage.

Because I use my blog to document my life and inspire others, one of the main focuses of my blog will continue to be marriage. I've always had a passion for learning about relationships, and now I'm finally living my happily ever after and I intend to share my goals about it with all of you.

What kind of music do you usually listen to?

Country! Although I do listen to a little bit of everything.

Do you get offended by people who bash on those who give marriage advice who haven't been married long?

Ya know, I actually experienced this pretty recently. Last month I saw a post someone wrote about how much she hated seeing newlyweds dish out marriage advice and immediately went on defense. Was it about me? Why would she be so cruel? Then I took inventory of my blog.

I really try hard to not say "all married couples need to do this..." Or "marriage advice for a happier marriage!" I try to say "what I do in my marriage that makes me happier" or "3 things I've learned about relationships" etc. Because I DO like sharing the things I've learned. But I definitely don't know everything about marriage. I've only been married 6 months!

So I've learned to push those kinda of comments aside. Because if you don't want to read about my marriage, you don't have to. And I love being inspired by posts that other wives are writing about what they've learned even if they've only been married a few months, so maybe others like reading about the same on my blog. In other words, it's my blog, and I do what I want ;)

And that's a wrap for Ask Brooklyn this month! Don't forget you can ask your questions for next month by clicking HERE! Happy Monday everyone!

I think blogging is subjective for everyone. Some use it for documentation life or some for other things. Main point is to write what you want to!
Haha! I've left eating fish for years , I don't know why I did so.

I love that last question. It is so annoying for those who have been married to say that newlyweds don't know anything. But we do. We know a lot more than those who aren't married. And while I don't know as much as those who have been married a long time, I still know about MY marriage. Not every marriage is the same, so not all advice will work for you. You get what I'm saying? So I'm with you. I try to talk more about what works for me and my marriage than other marriages that I know nothing about.

I'm not married but I love reading your marriage posts. I love that you put so much into your marriage and that you like to share what you have learned...it doesnt matter how long youve been married! I think other bloggers can be way too critical and negative about what others tend to blog about. But like you said, it's your blog, write about what you want! You're rocking it!
